9th January: last day for submissions to be part of Maker/Wearer/Matchmaker project, as part of ART MONTH 2013 (March); expressions of interest are open to jewellers residing in NSW, or artists who are members of JMGA-NSW at time of submission (for those who may want to apply but live outside the state); for more, see Studio 20/17 blog post … for those jewellers like me, not a resident or native of NSW, there are no location-based membership restrictions to the JMGA-NSW, so you can be a member (as far as I can tell)

15th January: last day for submissions to be part of ‘Exhibitions in Print 2013‘, an exhibition for SNAG curated by Susan Cohn [link]; the exhibition “will explore the power of the photograph to express the spirit of an object. Each work will be shown in at least two of the three photographic approaches…-–a formal high-quality studio photograph; a casual smart-phone shot; or an experimental image reinforcing the concept or function of the work.”

1st February 2013: applications close for Bendigo Gallery Contemporary Australian Silver & Metalwork Award [link]; this looks to be the new equivalent for the previously-named BUDA award?

8-12th February 2013: RMIT Master Class with Julie Blyfield, Making it … Object Design for Jewellers [link]; “Julie Blyfield, well known contemporary jeweller and object maker, will guide participants in this Master Class towards developing an understanding of the object design process, from sketching and model making to translation into a three-dimensional object or series of objects. Participants will then explore and experiment with different media and methods of fabrication to produce one of their designs.”
