Rainbow on the inside

29 08 2012

My bathroom window faces north.
This means it catches the beautiful winter sunshine.
Like this rainbow today.

Makes me smile.

Another little look

27 08 2012

Another little look at a group of earrings I’ve made for an upcoming exhibition.

This is a view of the back of the pair called ‘Capuccino‘.

Woah! That’s more than enough of a peek!

Beauty in suburbia

26 08 2012

A recent visit to a newish cafe. I liked the space.

I especially liked the light fittings.

Metal price update

25 08 2012

My last update was just under 3 months ago. I was curious about what’s happened to the prices since then…

As at 25th August 2012:

1. Gold price in US$ for last 12 months – it seems that last month has seen a little kick up in the US$ price

as at 25th August 2012; click on image for original source

2. Gold price in A$ for last 12 months – the kick above has been reflected in the A$ price too (as exchange rates have been relatively stable); looks like July was the best month for buying gold so far this year.

3. Silver price in US$ for last 12 months

as at 25th August 2012; click on image for original source

4. Platinum price in US$ for last 12 months – this has seen a pretty significant increase in price over the last month

Palladium [see chart] has also seen the same kind of increase as Platinum… looks like metal prices in general may be spiking again.

Colour fun

22 08 2012

In doing some research for a potential new body of work, I have found a site that takes a photo and produces a colour palette. Cool.

I’ve played around with it a little, and my favourite to date is what happens to my favourite gold brooch photograph.

Then tried it with a lovely image:

more colour fun

I originally thought it may be a palette by prominence of colour, though now I think it may just be an average over each space … whichever, it pleases me greatly.

New making

20 08 2012

I’ve had some super fun in the studio lately.

And so, a sneak peek at some work I’ve just completed for an upcoming exhibition.
