8th February: Latrobe Regional Art Gallery (Morwell, country Victoria), ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor: 100 Women, 100 Brooches, 100 Stories’ [link]; traveling exhibition, toured by Museum and Gallery Services QLD; “Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor: 100 Women 100 Brooches 100 Stories celebrates the achievements of notable professional women in Australia. Inspired by the old Tinker Tailor rhyme – which lists male held occupations – artisan invited eminent jeweller and history-enthusiast, Dr Dorothy Erickson, to select 100 prominent Australian women. These leading figures became the inspirations for which 100 of Australia’s finest women jewellers, ranging from emerging to established, were invited to create a brooch inspired by one of their stories.“; until 6th April … booked my train ticket to see this one!
