‘Summer Earrings’ for Studio 20/17

3 12 2012

It pleases me greatly to share the earrings I’ve made for Studio 20/17 Christmas Showcase 2012 ‘Deck the Walls‘.

I’ve called the collection ‘Summer‘.

The colours and combinations chosen reminded me of my childhood summer holidays … not to put to fine a point on it, in the late 70s and early 80s.

Deck the Walls‘ is a take-away showcase – if you buy a piece, you get to take it home immediately instead of waiting until the end of the showcase period.

Do go! It opens tomorrow (4th) and continues at Studio 20/17 until 24th December 2012.

‘For the Love of Coffee’ opens this week

2 10 2012

It’s a pretty busy few months for jewellery makers and jewellery lovers. This week ‘For the Love of Coffee‘ opens at Studio 20/17.

I have contributed a group of five earrings. I’ve shared a few sneak peeks, but now a proper photograph.

The colours and proportions of the weaves represent the common kinds of ways coffee is enjoyed.
From left to right: ‘Cappuccino’, ‘Cafe Latte’, ‘Flat White’, ‘Long Black’ and ‘Espresso’.
The discs are approximately 22mm in diameter.

I enjoyed making these so much.

Come to think of it, I think this is the first time I’ve made an earring collection. In fact, I have rarely made earrings before. Whoo! A milestone indeed.

For the Love of Coffee‘ is at Studio 20/17 from 2nd to 13th October 2012.

In an exciting development, ‘Oh Opal! (re-imagining Australia’s national gemstone’ is opening today at Studio 20/17 in Sydney. Hoorah. A travelling exhibition I say!

Remember my pieces? These three, that were shown in the original exhibition at Redox Jewellery Studio in Geelong, will be on show again.

Get thee along!
