NGV jewellery collection

5 01 2015

It’s been four years since I visited the NGV International to see which pieces of their permanent jewellery collection they have displayed.

Though it must be said that in the meantime there has of course been ‘Melbourne NOW‘ and ‘Unexpected Pleasures‘ for sufficient jewellery visiting.

The new display makes use of the sleek shelving used in ‘Melbourne NOW‘, which I do think is an improvement on the previous cabinets.

While there are many pieces that have pretty much been on display for at least five years (eg. Karl Fritsch, Otto Kunzli wallpaper brooches, Nel Lissen neckpieces, etc), however there were some I hadn’t seen before. Hoorah.

I must apologise –  I didn’t make any notes about which pieces are made by whom. Naughty, and less than helpful. So sorry.
