10th-12th May: RMIT Masterclass short course ‘Worn beyond function‘ with Helen Britton and Justine McKnight [link]; “In this master class participants will investigate what happens when we put jewellery, garments or objects on the body. We will consider what function is and why we wear things. Is it to make connections: to others (relationships, subcultures etc); to experiences (through items that signify or remind us of the experience); to places; to knowledge (cultural, historical)? How might we move beyond the mainstream function of worn items and disturb or challenge the expected?
