Murray Fredericks ‘Topophilia’ @ Arc One Gallery

7 12 2013

Visiting photography exhibitions is a rarer occurrence for me than I’d like. Therefore I was most pleased to accidentally come upon Murray FredericksTopophilia‘ at Arc One Gallery today during a city exhibition wander.

His photographs are large-scale, some of a size that you can feel immersed in the image. Absolutely stunning. Breathtaking.

The exhibition title is also gorgeous: from Greek topos “place” and -philia “love of” … a love of place or strong sense of place.

The gallery website has images of all photographs in the exhibition, as does Murray’s website.

Topophilia‘ has its last day today 7th December 2013.

ps. the above photograph is a new entry to the Lust List!

Update (8th December): I’ve only just realised that this artist is the subject of a documentary I’ve previously enjoyed watching, ‘Salt‘. I can find the trailer online, and ‘Salt‘ is on ABCiview for a month or so – in an amazing coincidence it was broadcast today!
