Visiting photography exhibitions is a rarer occurrence for me than I’d like. Therefore I was most pleased to accidentally come upon Murray Fredericks ‘Topophilia‘ at Arc One Gallery today during a city exhibition wander.
His photographs are large-scale, some of a size that you can feel immersed in the image. Absolutely stunning. Breathtaking.
The exhibition title is also gorgeous: from Greek topos “place” and -philia “love of” … a love of place or strong sense of place.
‘Topophilia‘ has its last day today 7th December 2013.
ps. the above photograph is a new entry to the Lust List!
Update (8th December): I’ve only just realised that this artist is the subject of a documentary I’ve previously enjoyed watching, ‘Salt‘. I can find the trailer online, and ‘Salt‘ is on ABCiview for a month or so – in an amazing coincidence it was broadcast today!
