… Then I made my dad a beanie.
He likes to go for long walks, and as he lives in a place that’s very cold in winter, I thought he’d like a cap to keep his noggin warm.
It’s the first time in ages I’ve knitted in any yarn other than 4ply. This is 10ply, in a dark blue and green combination: MadelineTosh Vintage in Stargazing. The photo shows a little more colour definition than it seems in ‘real life’. It’s a really simple pattern and takes no time to knit up: Regular Guy beanie.
Then I made myself another pair of socks. These were made using the two-at-a-time toe-up method, and I even used the heel in the pattern to try out something new. It was fun to knit, and I like the pattern (Crazy Monkey), but I don’t so much like the combination of the pattern and the yarn colouring.
It’s beautiful to handle, it’s Koigu KPPPM in colour P536. I have no idea why I bought this yarn – it combines all the colours I don’t like: green, brown and yellow. Strange decision indeed. Have a look at their website, there are so many amazing colour combinations, way more amazing than this choice.
Next is a cardigan. For serious.

[…] Last time I wrote about my knitting extravaganza I promised a cardigan. Well … I did knit a cardigan, all 60 or more hours of it. It was a fail. A large fail. It didn’t fit properly and the shape was all wrong. Wrong I tell you. […]
